Pearl of the Aegean

Located within the borders of Çanakkale, Bozcaada is definitely one of the most beautiful islands of the Aegean. Let's take a look at what makes Bozcaada, which has become a popular holiday destination with its closeness to metropolises such as Istanbul and Izmir, a unique place.
As it is a historic and natural protected area, there are only boutique hotels, usually run by the locals, instead of large facilities with a holiday village concept.
Accommodation options are usually B&B.
One of the best-preserved castles in Turkey, the Bozcaada Castle is the first thing that catches your eye among the structures you see as you approach the shore on the ferry. The Greek District and the Church of Mother Mary, which is in this district and still open for worship, are must-to-see. There are windmills, which were renovated in 2019, behind the Greek District. There is also a museum on the island, where many objects, photographs, and collections that reflect the history of the island are exhibited.
Göztepe, the highest point on the island; Ayazma Monastery that was built for Aya Paraskevi, a Greek saint, and is home to colorful scenes at every July 26; wine factories where the world-famous wine of the island is produced (the island's three oldest wine producers' factories are also in the center of the island), Polente Lighthouse, and the windmills, an ideal place to end the day, in the western headland of the island are also places that are definitely worth a visit.
